Art Nouveau WMF Silver Plate Bowl & Plate – Dragonfly & Mistletoe Design. Circa 1905.

This exquisite Art Nouveau silver-plated bowl with matching underplate was crafted by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) around 1905.

A true showcase of Jugendstil design, it features a beautifully detailed openwork motif of dragonflies and mistletoe, both symbolic of transformation, renewal, and harmony with nature – key themes of the Art Nouveau movement.

The bowl’s scalloped edge is formed by delicately rendered dragonflies, their wings gracefully outspread among clusters of mistletoe berries. The matching plate echoes the same organic design, tying the set together with elegance and balance.
